UX/UI DESIGN

Zevo

TEAM P&G Ventures, Zevo | ROLE Lead UX/UI Designer | PRODUCT Website Redesign

CHALLENGE

The current Zevo DTC (direct to consumer) website was not delivering high results based on user retention and interaction.

I was tasked with the role as lead UX/UI designer to reorganize the Zevo website to be more user friendly while redesigning the site to ensure that the brand personality shined through.

SOLUTION

Establish a design system that defines the brand guidelines and how they will be applied to the digital space. From there, create mobile and desktop designs with a user centric focus to improve both usability and aesthetic in order to deliver a higher retention rate.

The internal organization of the design files will allow for easy scalability as new design versions are released in the future.

I examined Zevo’s shelf presence in 4 of our main distributors: Target, Kroger, Lowe’s, and Home Depot. I also visited an indirect store, PetSmart, to get an understanding of how adjacent categories approach in market appearances.

Market research

Zevo’s location, organization, and product stock was compared to it’s competitor brands. Flea and tick products were also viewed to gain a wholistic look at package categorization and shelf presence.

The main takeaways from analyzing the previous state of the Zevo website for both desktop and mobile included alignment and sizing issues which lead to usability and accessibility limitations. The navigation and content of the site also needed to be updated to improve user experience.

WEB & MOBILE ANALYSIS

Benchmarking

Stem, Raid, and OFF! were analyzed as the main competitor brands for Zevo along one of our most well known spray brands, Febreze, to look at site treatment, both organization and aesthetic wise.

Design System

Using the atomic design methodology to create a structured and organized system that allows for easy, quick management and scalability.

The entire website was recreated, including improvements to usability and aesthetics. Product landing pages, PDPs, and cart check out were main flows that were improved for user retention.
